Kali's Fire:
Kali's Fire is an offshoot of Tribal Fire. The group was formed when we realized that there were a few of us who wanted to dance outside the box a little and explore the darker side of Tribal Fusion. Who better to lead us there than Kali — goddess of both creation and destruction. This group allows us to use our dance as a means of destroying our own demons, reaching a place of calm where we can begin again. It gives us the space to explore the dark goddess in each of us. Dark Tribal Fusion, or at least my version of it, has a strength to it that I don't always feel in my everyday life. It's powerful, moving, maybe even a little menacing at times —I love the way that I feel while dancing on the darker side. There has always been a dark goddess inside of me; it's time to let her out to play." |
